Three bacon baps

July 12th, 2008 by admin in Uncategorized

Today we passed through a small town called Whitchurch. We were all in need of some refreshing and in true JOGLE form were in search of a bacon buttie and a strong coffee. We asked a couple of local kids who took us down a dark passage way … a small alley … which turned out to be the kitchen door of a local cafe/chippy. We asked if we could get the required refreshments and politley told they don’t open until midday. We were just leaving when they called back saying they would serve us anyway. Personal service in a completely empty cafe was great they treated us very well and even threw in a free round of drinks. Increadibly reasonable, just 5.70 for 3 Bacon baps and 6 cups of tea! They also said they would try and sponsor us too! We pressed on and managed a cool 77 miles today which was pretty good going. Off to Monmouth tomorrow morning, nice and early to meet up with Paul who’s set up camp all ready for us.

Where are we now?

Well today we arrived in Rixton. Where’s that? … It’s near Warrington which is either Cheshire or Lancashire we haven’t quite worked it out. Today’s cycling started early at 6.30 departing the brilliant Lowther Holiday Park who as previously mentioned kindly let us pitch for free. We got to Kendal about 9. Dad bought some mint cake which I’m sure you can get in Sainsburys then onto Lancaster for McDonalds snack which made a nice change to the Scottish pies we’d been eating lots of. Then on to Preston for coffees and Bagels. It’s all food and drink really little cycling. We then pressed onto Wigan. By then it was getting on a bit but we all felt fit enough to carry on and we made it to Warrington. It was then a quick panic to find somewhere to sleep and thanks to Gav we found a campsite in Rixton where we were greeted by two lads asking for 25 quid. Youch, but is a bit of a captive market with virtually no other campsites around for miles. Now sitting in a pub called the Black Swan just had a great dinner not sure about the live cover singer.

Downtime

Whoops, it appears I’ve not been paying my bills, or rather checking my emails. If you happened to visit the site in the last 24 hours you may have seen a godaddy.com splash screen telling the administrator to contact them immediately. Well I have and a small issue over money has been resolved and the website has been resurrected.

Going Global

We’ve succeeded in hitting a worldwide audience!. Thanks to my mate Matt, we’ve had a donation today from Down Under. I hope he didn’t misunderstand the ‘End to End’ business, ‘cos I’m blowed if I’m cycling all the way to Sydney…..
How about some of your mates at Diageo then Matt?. Must have some links to the Mother Country? Perhaps if I mention DIAGEO enough, or maybe stick in a link
http://www.diageo.com/en-row/homepage.htm will that work?
Bonzer!

Logo ideas

April 20th, 2008 by admin in Uncategorized

You may have noticed but we don’t currently really have a logo. To get this site setup fast I used a template and cobbled together a simple text logo but it is about time we got a proper logo. So last week my Dad, Mark, came up with a great idea for a logo. So I’ve had a play with and come up with some designs based around his original idea. I would really like some feed back on what you think.

My drawings can be found here
